Amitābha Buddha Recitation

Reciting the name of Amitābha Buddha is one of if not the most practiced methods of cultivation in Mahāyāna Buddhism. It is a simple practice: one recites 'Amitābha Buddha'. The primary reason for doing this is in response to the eighteenth vow (i.e., the 'primal vow') of Amitābha Buddha, which states that recalling his name shall cause a person to be reborn in his pure land of Sukhāvatī. The ease of this practice, which essentially makes this lifetime as deluded, suffering being our last, makes it the go-to practice for many, masters and householders alike. It is also a practice that many masters recommend their students to engage in diligently.
